Helen Peña is a Dominican-American filmmaker, culture worker, and community organizer from Miami, FL. She uses filmmaking, photography, and video art to create ritual portraits of black and brown dispossessed women in Miami, Latin America, and the Caribbean as offerings for movements for liberation. Throughout her years organizing with racial and gender justice organizations, Dream Defenders and (f)empower, she has co-led a community bail fund, mutual aid programs, healing spaces, artistic interventions, and more.
